  Nanchang University, www.ncu.edu.cn, the key comprehensive provincial institution and one of the key constructive universities of China supported by the government under the State 211 Project, is located in Nanchang, the beautiful capital city of Jiangxi Province.

It is entitled by the Ministry of Education of China to enroll foreign students supported by the Chinese government scholarship and it is also one of the Chinese universities where foreign students come to study with the foreign government scholarships. Nanchang University, initially named National Zhong-Zheng University, was founded in 1940. In May of 1993, Nanchang University was re-established by combining the Jiangxi University and the Jiangxi Polytechnic University. In December of 2004, an agreement was signed by the Ministry of Education of China and the provincial government of Jiangxi to co-manage the Nanchang University. In August of 2005, the university merged the Jiangxi Medical College to become today's Nanchang University.


The university promotes international exchange and cooperation and now has established stable relationship of exchange and cooperation with more than 30 institutes of higher education, scientific research institutions and administrative departments in over 20 countries.


Nanchang University has established the International Education College specialized in training foreign students to study Chinese language and engaging in degree teaching of concerned majors. The university has set up the special building for international students accommodation. Since 1991, it has begun to recruit foreign students from the United States, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Korean, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Laos, Thailand, Burundi, Guinea, Kampuchea, Syria, Tanzania, Cameron, and other countries. The teaching resource is abundant and all the teachers who are arranged in teaching international students Chinese have got the "Aptitude Certification of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language". 1. Candidates must be no more than 35 years old. Thus, applicants born before 1 January 1978 will not be considered under this programme.
2. Preference will be given to candidates already possessing at the time of application a Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in the field of the life sciences. However, candidatures from students pursuing studies/research leading to a Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) will also be entertained.
Facility:
The initial fellowship is for a maximum period of 12 months, for a maximum sum of $40,000. The fellowship can be extended for up to 12 additional months with up to $40,000 additional funding upon request of the Fellow and validation of the Selection Committee.

The application must have the following attachments:
a) The UNESCO Fellowship application form duly completed, in English or in French, in duplicate. Two recent photographs should be included with the form.
b) An e-mail address regularly used by the candidate.
c) Certified copies of degree or diplomas (including transcript of grades) in duplicate. Proof either of having obtained a Ph.D. degree or of being in the process of studying for a Ph.D. degree must be included.
d) A list of publications, if any.
e) A letter of recommendation from someone familiar with the candidate’s work.
f) A host institute’s letter of acceptance (i.e. the institute that has accepted the candidate for work should she be selected for a fellowship). This letter of acceptance must indicate the name of the academic supervisor, the date and duration, and the host institute’s willingness to provide the relevant training facilities required by the candidate in the chosen field of specialization.
g) The certificate of language proficiency (on UNESCO form) duly completed in duplicate for the language of the country of study (should this be different from the candidate’s mother tongue) and signed by the competent authority.
h) Detailed proposal for the research project: one to two page(s) (maximum), in either English or French.

The International PhD program of the Max Delbrück Centre for Molecular Medicine (MDC) in Berlin offers 15 PhD Positions. The MDC currently hosts more than 50 research groups and 250 doctorate students working in the fields of

Who is Eligible?:
